Information about becoming a young adult volunteer for Abide 2019 will be available this winter.
What is Abide?
Abide is a missionary discipleship conference, a "going deeper" conference for a teen who has encountered Christ and is beginning his or her journey as a disciple. These teens are looking to grow in spiritual life and learn more about how to share the Gospel with their families, friends, etc. This conference is five days long, lasting from Wednesday through Sunday. The teens who attend this conference are not only taught about who Jesus is, but they live a daily personal encounter with him. This happens through daily Mass, opportunities for confession, adoration, worship, and authentic Christian community. The pinnacle experience of this conference is the opportunity for the teens to go into the world as a missionary disciple. This is done by going downtown Cincinnati to share love and joy of Christ with others.
How can I help?
This is where you come in! We rely on Young Adult Volunteers to accompany these teens during this week. This is done through a variety of roles, such as logistics, liturgy, and relational ministry. Having all of these areas covered during Abide provides opportunities for you to live out the Gospel during this week by being an example of lived faith for these teens. You will work closely with a team of young adults as well as the ABIDE leadership team.
You will be required to be at the conference from 8am on June 26 - June 30 at 3:30pm, as well as attend a training session in late May.
We have 12 Young Adult Volunteer spots available.
